About the Project:


AACR Project Genomics, Evidence, Neoplasia, Information, Exchange (GENIE) is an open-source, international, pancancer registry of real-world data assembled through data sharing between 18 of the leading cancer centers in the world. Through the efforts of strategic partners Sage Bionetworks and cBioPortal, the registry aggregates, harmonizes, and links clinical-grade, next-generation cancer genomic sequencing data with clinical outcomes obtained during routine medical practice from cancer patients treated at these institutions with the goal of improving clinical decision making and catalyzing clinical and translational research ( The Biopharma Collaborative (BPC) is a five-year, multi-phase collaboration between 10 leading pharma companies and GENIE adding deep clinical annotation to select cohorts within the registry with the goal of eventually scaling the clinical annotation registry-wide.




The AACR Project GENIE Coordinating Center is seeking an experienced, professional project manager who has the expertise to oversee a large, multi-year, complex project on tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is an experienced and highly organized individual who is able to work both independently and in diverse teams, with a proven track record of meeting deliverables in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage expectations for delivery and competing resource utilization
  • Identify workflow, protocol, and SOP gaps, coordinate documentation updates from internal and external strategic partners and lead the internal annual SOP update review.
  • Collaborate with GENIE Director or strategic partner team leads to prepare for all BPC project meetings, ensure minutes are taken and distributed to all BPC stakeholders as outlined in the communication plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Tasks:

  • Use project management platform to maintain an up-to-date project status, to ensure all tasks are executed on time, ensure all BPC stakeholders have access to the information and maintain all stakeholder expectations for internal and external deliverables including the assignment of tasks and detailed project timeline.
  • Conduct routine project risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Coordinate with participating academic sites, strategic partners, and internal team to ensure the prompt delivery and receipt of project goals, milestones, and timelines.
  • Develop, circulate and educate all project stakeholders about new or updated BPC project documentation
  • Manage, update, educate, and execute the project communication plan among all BPC stakeholders.
  • Develop or coordinate the development of all materials necessary for project meetings including agendas, summaries, and other post-meeting materials and distribute materials to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead PM software training for existing BPC internal and external team members and assist with onboarding new internal and external team members.
  • Manage systems access requests and for all BPC project team members to project platforms; manage the list of authorized project users.



  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing large-scale production, multi-site projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented, flexible, individual that understands how to make data-driven decisions to drive project workflows
  • Proven ability to work with diverse teams
  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage multiple, simultaneous, and diverse workflows, convey functional team needs across all teams and maintain stakeholder expectations.
  • Demonstrated competence/working knowledge of project management platforms including but not limited to MS Project, Freedcamp, Smartsheets, Jira, etc. to achieve deliverables.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite, and project management platforms like Freedcamp or Microsoft Project
