Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detailed-oriented Senior Scientific Program Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cancer research.  They will work in a highly collaborative environment to oversee all administrative aspects of our grants program, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective utilization of funds.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develops grant program guidelines and application requirements.
  • Conducts comprehensive grant review, administration, and evaluation.
  • Manages all administrative aspects of awarded grants, including tracking and reporting finances and project outcomes in collaboration with a program administrator.
  • Works collaboratively with AACR staff to promote grant availability.
  • Review, analyze, compile, and present the impact of grantees and supported research work to funders and other stakeholders.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned and as needed.

Qualifications

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with excellent judgment and well-developed analytic abilities.
  • Ability to work on and coordinate multiple projects to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including working effectively in a team setting with AACR colleagues, members, and leaders. 

Education and Experience 

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in cancer or a related scientific field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in cancer research with a record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience in a grant-making organization or in grants management is preferred but not required.
