About Project GENIE

AACR Project Genomics, Evidence, Neoplasia, Information, Exchange (GENIE) is a publicly

accessible international cancer registry of real-world data assembled through data sharing among a consortium of leading cancer centers. Through the efforts of strategic partners Sage Bionetworks and cBioPortal, GENIE aggregates, harmonizes, and links clinical-grade, next-generation cancer genomic sequencing data with clinical outcomes to drive clinical decision-making and inform cancer research globally.

 

Summary

The AACR Project GENIE Coordinating Center is seeking an experienced, professional project manager who has the expertise to execute routine project management activities for complex projects with tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is experienced, highly organized, and can work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams, and demonstrates a proven track record of meeting deliverables in a fast-paced, environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for two multi-site projects, coordinating with academic and strategic partners and GENIE PMO.
  • Collaborate with the PMO to resolve issues, implement strategies, and ensure timely completion of tasks and milestones.
  • Monitor and maintain project schedules using project management tools.
  • Provide real-time project updates and progress reports to stakeholders to ensure transparency and minimize communication gaps.
  • Identify and address workflow, protocol, and SOP gaps; coordinate documentation updates and facilitate SOP reviews with PMO.
  • Prepare for and support all project meetings, including agenda development, minute-taking, and distribution of materials in accordance with the communication plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Specific Job Tasks

  • Use project management systems to provide weekly status updates and conduct analyses.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and stakeholder communication regarding project timelines and task execution.
  • Conduct routine risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of project goals and milestones.
  • Develop and disseminate updated project documentation and educate stakeholders on changes.
  • Perform process and SOP gap analyses and facilitate regular reviews.
  • Manage and execute the project communication plan across all stakeholders.
  • Develop and distribute post-meeting materials, including agendas, summaries, and documentation.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new and existing stakeholders.
  • Manage system access and maintain the list of authorized users for project platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of project management experience or an advanced degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and leadership abilities.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and detail-oriented with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workflows and coordinate across diverse teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and project management platforms (e.g., MS Planner, Freedcamp, Smartsheet, Jira).
