Overview

AACR operates a complex, multi-cloud Salesforce environment that serves as the operational backbone of the organization. Our platform spans Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) for fundraising and membership, Salesforce Marketing Cloud for communications and campaign management, Salesforce Data Cloud for audience segmentation, and a sophisticated integration layer connecting Salesforce to our data warehouse, finance systems, identity management (Auth0), and event platforms.

The Salesforce Administrator, Enterprise Platforms is a senior, hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day health, stability, and continuous improvement of this environment. You will work alongside our managed services development partner and internal platform team to ensure the Salesforce ecosystem operates reliably, scales with the organization, and delivers real value to the departments that depend on it.

This role is designed for someone who has deep Salesforce/NPC experience and meaningful Marketing Cloud familiarity. This is an opportunity to own both in a mission-driven organization where your work directly supports the global fight against cancer.

Finally, this role serves as an IT advocate to the business by supporting approved projects and evangelizing the use of new technologies to solve business problems.

Responsibilities

  1. Platform Administration and Stability
  • Serve as the primary internal adminsitrator of AACR's Salesforce NPC environment, managing user accounts, permission sets, security model, data quality, and system health on a daily basis
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests from end users across all Salesforce platforms; document issues and solutions in our internal ticketing system
  • Manage and maintain sandbox environments; own the release and change management process in coordination with the Technical Projects Manager and QA Engineer
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and engage managed services and internal leadership as appropriate
  • Support data imports, exports, and maintenance operations using Data Loader and other tools; maintain data integrity across integrated systems
  • Manage AppExchange applications and maintain the integration surface with connected systems including Snowflake, Auth0/SSO, and event platforms
  1. Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud Support
  • Administer and support Salesforce Marketing Cloud operations including user management, data extension maintenance, deliverability monitoring, and configuration support for the marketing team
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for our Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud managed services resource, directing day-to-day work, reviewing deliverables, and escalating as needed
  • Support audience segmentation and list management activities in Data Cloud in partnership with the platform team
  • As familiarity with the environment grows, progressively take ownership of Marketing Cloud administration to reduce dependence on external support
  1. Development and Configuration
  • Perform declarative customization of objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validation rules, and Lightning flows to support business requirements
  • Handle light Apex and Lightning Web Component work for straightforward customizations that do not require managed services engagement
  • Review and test configuration and development work delivered by the managed services vendor; provide informed sign-off before deployment to production
  • Participate in the planning and scoping of development requests; partner with the Business Analyst to ensure requirements are well-defined before work is assigned to managed services
  • Support quality assurance efforts alongside the QA Engineer, with a focus on regression testing during release cycles
  1. User Enablement and Training
  • Provide end users with best practices, tips, and training on Salesforce usage to drive adoption and reduce repeat support requests
  • Develop and maintain user-facing documentation, how-to guides, and training materials for key Salesforce workflows
  • Act as an internal champion for Salesforce capabilities, helping departments understand what the platform can do for them and how to use it effectively
  1. IT Administration and Collaboration
  • Maintain up-to-date technical and functional documentation for the Salesforce environment, integrations, and configuration decisions
  • Provide regular status updates on open issues, ongoing projects, and platform health to IT leadership
